Happy Friday! Today I have a very simple and elegant way to serve strawberries.
This Florida-in-a-Bowl is named that because we are going to use a splash of orange blossom water to bring out the essence of the strawberry. It truly reminds me of home.
First, and this is the most important step, you need fresh strawberries.
Also, did I mention I was from Florida? Specifically, from Plant City, Florida. It is the self-proclaimed strawberry capital of the world! Haha. We take this stuff very seriously. So seriously that we have a strawberry festival. Yes, a strawberry festival. And a strawberry parade! I used to dance in the parade. Oh yes, it was strawberry-tactic. I don’t know why I am adding this, but here’s a picture of my little sister and I in our Strawberry Festival Parade getup.
Back to the strawberries. You *HAVE* to find Plant City, Strawberries. They are making their rounds around the country’s grocery stores this month and I promise you, you won’t eat a better strawberry.
Rinse the strawberries right before you’re going to use them. Try not to wash strawberries in advance to keep them in the fridge or room temp so they’re always ready to eat. They’ll get moldy that way. No bueno.
Now we’re coming to the good stuff. Orange blossom water. You can find orange blossom water at your local Indian or Pakistani store. It is perfectly scented and floral in a not-overt perfume-y way. This brightens and heightens the flavors of the strawberry. In layman terms, it classes the joint up.
Mix 1/4 of a teaspoon per serving. Mix all this together and let the strawberries blend and macerate. Macerating will allow the strawberries to soak in the liquid and sugar. It will also extract the natural juices of the strawberries creating its own syrup.
I hope you guys try out this delicious variation on one of nature’s best blessings.

- 1 teaspoon sugar or 1 packet of trivia
- ¼ teaspoon orange blossom water
- Cut up the strawberries and place in a bowl

I hope you guys try it out! It’s great.
